BRIAN Howard says Sheffield United's strength in depth will prove decisive in the battle for promotion.
Howard, who joined Kevin Blackwell's side on loan from Barnsley last month, described his new teammates as some of the most talented players in the division.
He believes the sheer weight of quality United have at their disposal will help tip the race for the Premier League in their favour.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's trip to Charlton Athletic, Howard said: "This squad has enough to go up without a doubt. You've only got to look at our bench to see that.
"In fact, you've only got the look at the quality of some of the lads who can't get into the squad at all on matchdays at the moment.
"If we can just get the little things right then we'll be right there.
"I want to get to the Premier League and that's why I joined Sheffield United.
"I came here purely for footballing reasons and to further my career."
Howard hopes United's attention to detail will pay dividends against opponents languishing at the wrong end of the Championship table.
The Blades lost their eight-month unbeaten home record against Reading last weekend, but the 25-year-old, who expects to complete a permanent transfer to Bramall Lane in January, revealed confidence within the camp remains high.
United head to the capital fifth in the table and Howard added: "I think we're within touching distance of everything falling into place now.
"Because there are so many good players, everyone in the team knows that they've got to perform to stay in the team.
