OUR family went to Barnsley to visit, for some shopping and a meal. But I was disgusted to see that the BNP had been given space for a publicity stall in the middle of the town. We didn't want to spend our money in this sort of town so we just came home - and spent our money in Sheffield.

Why Sheffield, We have a strong BNP membership here also. But let me add. I am not BNP. But I believe in their rights to canvass and advertize themselves, The SNP, WNP. and other National Parties are not treated in the same way. Especially Wales,. But we are still a free country though it does not feel like it at the moment. The actions of certain authorities only serve to prove the BNP right on many issued that they stand for.

Obviously you do not believe in democracy and freedom of speech. In your world I suppose we should only listen to what Chairman Gordon spouts at us and you probably believe every word he says.

Free speech is what is at stake here, no matter how much you dislike the BNP they have as much right to have their say as the rest as long as its legal.

Free speech isn't at stake here at all: Just because you're free to say what you want doesn't mean people have to listen to it.

Lets hope that our much vaunted education system which devotes so much time to "humanitarian issues" produces young people who are not seduced by such peoples ideas....but with the booze -addled, drug taking, violent society we are living in could anyone be blamed for joining anything which promises change?

This is so ridiculous its laughable, would D JOHNSON leave the country if the BNP ever got into Number 10.What with the uproar recently about a perfectly legitimate political party wanting to hold a meeting in Sheffield and the underhand ways employed to stop the meeting, It makes you wonder who are the biggest bigots. Good luck to Barnsley BNP in their attempts to bring the message to the general public.

REMEMBER MANY YEARS AGO WHEN WE HELD THE SAME OPINION ABOUT THE COMMUNIST PARTY. WELL MANY OF THEM JOINED LABOUR AND WE THEN CREATED THE LUNY LEFT AS WE CALL THEM. BUT THE BNP AS DISLIKED AS THEY ARE DO HAVE POLICIES. I AM A CONSERVATIVE, BUT I ACCEPT THE RIGHTS OF THE BNP TO HAVE THE FREEDOMS THAT WE ARE SUPPOSED TO VALUE SO MUCH HERE IN THIS COUNTRY. MAYBE SOME OF THOSE THAT LISTEN TO FAR TOO MUCH PROPOGANDA ABOUT THE BNP SHOULD EDUCATE THEMSELVES AND VISIT THE BNP WEBSITE. THEY MAY LEARN THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING AT ALL IN COMMON WITH THE ONCE DREADED NATIONAL FRONT, THEY ARE NOT THE SAME THE NF STILL EXIST AND ARE STILL DANGEROUS. MANY OF THE POLICIES OF THE BNP IS TO STOP FLOODING OUR COUNTRY WITH ASYLUM AND FALSE IMMIGRATION APPLICATIONS. IN PRIVATE WE AGREE WITH THIS. HOMES HAVE BEEN LOST, JOBS HAVE BEEN LOST, CRIME HAS RISEN. I WILL ARGUE THIS POINT WITH ANYONE. YES WE HAVE BRITISH CRIMINALS BUT WE DEAL WITH THEM. FOREIGN CRIMINALS SHOULD BE RETURNED STRAIGHT HOME. MUSLIM LAWS ARE THREATENED TO BE INTIGRATED WITH OURS, THIS WILL BE A TRAGEDY. THEN WE HAVE CORRUPTION FROM LOCAL COMMITTEE'S TO THE HIGHEST GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT. FROM COMMUNITY WARDENS TO THE CHIEF CONSTABLES. OUR KIDS FACE INTIMIDATION AND BULLYING EVERY DAY FROM THE AUTHORITIES. COME ON. WE ALL KNOW THIS. OR ARE WE AFRAID TO ADMIT THAT THIS COUNTRY IS IN CRISIS AND ARE AFRAID TO FACE THE TRUTH. WELL I GUESS THERE ARE MANY HYPOCRITE OUT THERE, OR THERE ARE MANY THAT JUST SHUT THEIR DOORS AND LOCK OUT THE WORLD. LISTEN TO THE PROPOGANDA SPEWED OUT BY CERTAIN T.V. DOCS. CANNOT LOOK FOR THE TRUTH THEMSELVES.

> but with the booze -addled, drug taking, violent society we are living in

Booze, drugs and excess have been around for quite a long time - certainly longer than the last 20 years. If you seriously believe that these are modern problems that no-one's ever experienced before then I'd say you need to read a bit more history.

> could anyone be blamed for joining anything which promises change?

Yes. Yes, you could.

Also - I don't suppose it's occurred to you that promising change is a bit like promising gravity? It's not in the BNP's power to stop things changing so I don't see what promising change amounts to, practically speaking.

****************************

> The actions of certain authorities only serve to prove the BNP right on many issued that they stand for.

Firstly: it's 'issues', not 'issued'.

Secondly: Which authorities, and which issues? Allow me to counter your nebulous argument with something of equal clarity: The actions of certain BNP activists only serve to prove Labour right.

****************************

> What with the uproar recently about a perfectly legitimate political party wanting to hold a meeting in Sheffield and the underhand ways employed to stop the meeting ...

There was nothing underhand about it - Southey Social Club changed their minds after "taking advice from councillors, MPs, police and concerned members of the public" (The Star, 17th July 2008). I don't believe there's any law preventing property-holders from changing their minds about bookings so why the bad blood? Do the BNP believe in forcing people to accept its opinions whether they want to hear them or not?

> It makes you wonder who are the biggest bigots.

It does indeed.

****************************

> im sick to the stomach of whats happening to Britain !!

So am I - I've been trying for the last three years to buy a brown shirt for work, but there are so many little Hitlers around that Marks's have sold out.
