I AM appalled by knife crime.
We should have a vote to bring back the rope. Why keep murderers in jail? Why do I, and other tax payers, have to pay for these vile people?

Bring back a form of death penalty. I could not condone this, But, It seems we need to have the option of using this in serious murders. To be responsible for sending a man to his death is easy, If he is guilty of murder. But, We have seen far too many cases where Police have messed up big time and people have been wrongly sentenced. This could also lead to some juries not being able to reach a verdict if any member of a murder jury are against the death penalty, Hence we will have many guilty people walking free. There are ways that we can safely implement a death sentence, But this would depend upon having honest Police Officers, As well witnesses that do not lie. This cannot be guaranteed.

Even if we wanted to I cant see our European partners allowing it. What we want is harsh sentencing and imprisonment under harsh conditions. The penalty for killing someone should, given that the death penalty will never be re-introduced, be so severe that the thought of it acts as a real deterrent to anyone foolish enough to think of using a weapon.
