A DONCASTER climber has died after falling nearly 600 ft in a mountaineering accident.
David Kelsey, aged 54, was pronounced dead at the scene after falling from Jakes Rake, an ascent above Stickle Tarn in the Lake District.
He is believed to have suffered serious head injuries and chest, leg and arm injuries in the fall.

ey is believed to have been scrambling - a type of climbing which falls between hill walking and and rock climbing - when he fell.
He was with three friends at the time of the incident, last Wednesday.
Police and the Langdale Mountain Rescue Team were called out and the body of Mr Kelsey was flown from the hill by helicopter.
Nick Owen, of the mountain rescue team said: "He was scrambling with friends when he fell about 180 metres."
