Sheffield steelman Martin Howell has been elected as the next Master Cutler.
Mr Howell spent all his working life in the steel industry, much of it in South Yorkshire, and retired in 2006 as director of UK steel giant Corus's construction business.
He will take over from Gordon Bridge next month.
