Hull City manager Steve Bruce admitted Fernando Forestieri was unfortunate to be sent off in Sheffield Wednesday's 0-0 draw at the KC Stadium.

Forestieri returned from suspension after being sent off against Preston last week, when one of two yellow cards was given for simulation.

And that happened again at Hull when, this time, referee Tim Robinson ajudged the forward to have dived, after a challenge from Michael Dawson.

TV replays showed Forestieri being caught on the ankle by the rash tackle as he attempted to hurdle Dawson's lunge.

Bruce said afterwards: "I think (the red card decision) was harsh. I think I would be really, really disappointed if it had gave been one of our players.

"We all know the referee's got it wrong. The ludicrous thing is, for them is it was two yellow cards which you can't appeal against."

He added: "He's entitled to get out of the road."
