A Stagecoach Supertram departure has been cancelled in Sheffield this afternoon due to an ambulance being called for a passenger requiring medical assistance.

The transport provider shared an update on social media revealing a blue route tram would not be departing from Halfway due to the emergency.

The firm said: “Due to a passenger requiring an ambulance the 14:27 departure from Halfway is cancelled. This service will start at Beighton towards the city centre. Apologies if you're waiting.”

The Star has approached Stagecoach and Yorkshire Ambulance Service for further details.
