Two police officers were assaulted as they dealt with crime and disorder in Rotherham on Good Friday.

Posting on Twitter, Insp Abdul Aziz, response team inspector working in Rotherham, said two officers were assaulted by 9pm on Friday.

Bank holidays are traditionally busy periods for police officers.
